Our 30th annual Family Science Olympics was held on Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Medicine Hat College.
This FREE family event consisted of a number of events that contained hands-on science challenges and activities.
During the past few years, we have been fortunate to partner with the Medicine Hat College Education students. The students have gone above and beyond to help create a welcoming hands-on learning environment for ALL families.
This year well over 200 participants (not including the many volunteers who helped with the event) took part.
Praxis and the Medicine Hat College education students worked together on the details for the event and the events (with often more than one activity for each) were:
- “Making Sense of Your Senses”
- “Show Your True Colours”
- “Row Row Float Your Boat”
- “The Land Before Us”
- “Wheels Up Travel Company”
- “Soda Pop Speedsters”
- “Magical Molecules”
- “Air Force”
- “Getting to Know Science Fair”
- “Methane Molecules”
Draws were made for special prizes for each of the events and a special prize was drawn for a family that did 8 of the 10 activities. Some of the prizes have already been given/distributed to the families and the rest will be contacted soon.
WE HOPE YOU ENJOYED PARTICIPATING IN THIS FAMILY SCIENCE EVENT!
